Ever dreamed of seeing your own hero immortalised in a fantasy world? Now’s your chance!
We are excited to announce the launch of a brand-new Warhost Hero Design Competition! We invite players and hobbyists to create an original hero or character to expand the rich lore of Warhost. We want to see your creativity in action, a hero with a compelling story, a name worthy of song and legend, and a striking appearance that would make even the largest troll take notice!
Your entry should include:
- A short background story or biography – who are they, where do they come from, and what makes them stand out?
- A physical description – enough detail for Paul to sculpt the miniature! Think pose, armour, weapons, and any distinctive details.
- (Optional but encouraged!) A profile built using the Character Creator in the Warhost Rulebook (page 90) – this helps us see how they might fit into the game itself. Don’t worry if it’s not perfect; we can fine-tune this part later.
The winning entry will not only become part of Warhost’s official lore but will also be sculpted by Paul Hicks and added to the Warhost miniature range!
Who Can You Create?
The Warhost world is vast and full of potential heroes and villains waiting to be discovered. You might design:
- A noble Elf champion from the shining houses or one of the mysterious Fallen (whose secrets we’ve only just begun to touch on).
- A grim Dwarven guildmaster leading his merchants through the secret paths.
- A savage Orc warlord, scarred and roaring for vengeance.
- A spectral hero of The Dead, bound to ancient oaths.
- Or a stalwart leader from one of the Human Kingdoms, striving to keep hold of everything they have taken.
With Warhost, the choice of race adds depth and flavour, and every hero helps shape the history of this growing world.
For players of The Barons’ War, you’ll find this process familiar, as it’s much like the Build a Commander function in the historical game, but now you can choose from different races, and even create a Mage as well as a Warrior Hero. The possibilities are wide open.
Prizes
The winner will receive:
- A set of free models depicting their finished hero miniature, once produced.
- A prize pack themed around the upcoming Dwarven range, the next range for Warhost.
How to Enter
Please submit your entry to me, Andy Hobday, via andy@warhost.online by the 31st of December 2025. We’ll review all submissions and announce the winner on our blog and social channels.
NB: Make sure you read the Terms & Conditions at the bottom of the page.
Tips for Entrants
We love characters that fit within the Warhost world, heroes who could have fought at the Gate, bargained with Elven princes, or survived the wrath of the various Orc Warhosts. Big personalities, tragic flaws, noble causes bring them all to life.
So, sharpen your quills and your imagination. It’s time to forge your legend, with the reward of seeing it take form in resin and white metal.
Now is the time to create your hero, develop their story, and make them part of the Known World.
