In our last blog post, we opened the great gates of Starayafjell and introduced the first glimpses of our upcoming Warhost Dwarven Range. The community's response has been incredible. Clearly, the mountain halls have many friends beyond their stone-lined borders! Today, we’re excited to share more freshly forged sculpts, revealing just how much character, grit, and craftsmanship are going into this range.
As always, every miniature has been sculpted by the brilliant Paul Hicks, whose ability to capture personality in beard, brow, and battered cloth continues to astound. These latest models, Armoured Dwarven Archers and Dwarven Warriors armed with hand weapons, show just how much life he’s breathing into the guilds.
More Dwarven Archers Take Their Place
In the Warhost sourcebook, Dwarven Archers are described as invaluable but often underrated warriors, typically fielded by guilds that lack the wealth or prestige of the great Warrior houses. Though not as celebrated as their axe-wielding kin, their skill with powerful bows and their iron discipline make them essential to any Dwarven warhost.
Our newest sculpts reflect this perfectly:

Armoured Dwarven Archers - “Eyes Sharp as Stonefalcon Talons”
Thick-bearded veterans brace against the weight of their bows, while younger sharpshooters notch arrows with determined precision. These aren’t elegant Elven bowmasters; they’re pragmatic, armoured, and ready to stand their ground no matter what charges at them.
Dwarven Warriors With Hand Weapons — The Guild’s Iron Core
If archers are the unassuming backbone of a march, then the warriors armed with axe and shield are the iron heart of every Dwarven host.
The Warhost lore tells us that Dwarven warriors come from all walks of guild life. Some are resplendent in polished mail gifted by wealthy guilds; others march with heirloom helmets, battered axes, and antique shields pulled from deep armoury vaults. What unites them is their resolve: a regimented, disciplined line that moves with the steady rhythm of a people shaped by stone and duty.
These new sculpts capture that feeling exactly:

Dwarven Warriors with Hand Weapons - “The Contract-Bound Shieldwall”
Each model will hold a shield that looks like it’s repelled a lifetime of blows. Weapons are worn, chipped, and lovingly repaired, the way actual Dwarven weapons should appear. And the faces! From stern clan elders to sharp-eyed guild guards, every sculpt is brimming with story.
Paul Hicks has once again sculpted character into every crease, scar, and runic engraving. These warriors look like they’ve just stepped out of a mountain hold and onto your tabletop.
Building the Guilds, One Sculpt at a Time
This second wave of sculpts is an exciting milestone. It shows more of the core troops, the warriors you’ll line up shield-to-shield, the archers you’ll place behind them, and the backbone of what will become one of the most characterful fantasy Dwarven ranges out there.

Every new sculpt is checked against the rest of the developing range to ensure they work seamlessly together, whether you want a disciplined guild host or a mixed band of wandering scouts, or mountain-clan veterans.
What Comes Next
We have even more Dwarven goodness on the way, including additional heavily armoured warriors, Hunters’ Guild specialists, characters, and the first glimpses of the mounted and support options. If everything continues to progress on schedule, we’re still aiming to launch a Warhost website preorder as soon as possible.
The Dwarves are gathering, mustering their guilds, sharpening their axes, and polishing their shields. And with each new sculpt Paul completes, our newest Warhost range marches closer to reality.
Stay tuned for more reveals; the mountain has many secrets yet to share.
